GOdog uses concentrated pharmaceutical grade
L-Carnitine in liquid form for improved absorption and easy administration; either add to your dogs daily feed or give directly into the mouth using the included oral syringe.

GOdog uniquely combines L-Carnitine with our MAH magnesium formula for improved absorption and also because of magnesiums own unique health and performance benefits.

Dogs are particularly prone to L-Carnitine deficiency. Some L-Carnitine is synthesised in the liver and kidneys but they rely largely on dietary consumption. Normally L-Carnitine is gained through meat, particularly red meat, but the domesticated dog is mostly fed cereals and processed feeds that only contain a fraction of the amount.

L-Carnitine is a natural compound that is made in the body using amino acids. Its main role is to aid fat metabolism by facilitating the movement of acetyl groups so that they can be used in the production of energy. It also enables recycling of acetyl coenzyme-A, thus preventing fatigue. L-Carnitine is vital in the body to insure proper muscle, brain and heart function and energy production.

Magnesium is needed for every action in the body that requires energy including muscle relaxation. It is also needed for electrolyte management which is critical for maintaining proper cell function. Studies show that magnesium enhances muscle strength and endurance and reduces oxygen consumption and blood lactate accumulation, indicators of improved energy efficiency.

For Energy and Performance

Use GOdog to help boost performance and recovery. Ideally start feeding at least three weeks prior to competition or an event to enhance fitness. GOdog is best given throughout the competition season but is also beneficial when given on a short-term basis to cover times of extra work or an important competition.

Overweight Dogs
L-Carnitine is vital in the body to move fat stores and supplementation may help reduce body fat.

In one study (1) overweight dogs were given similar diets and divided into two groups: those to be supplemented with L-Carnitine and those that were not given any additional L-Carnitine. After seven weeks the dogs with L-Carnitine had lost 6.4% of their body weight, compared to a loss of only 1.8% in those without. There was also a far greater reduction in the percentage of body fat with L-Carnitine showing that the advantage came specifically from improvements in fat metabolism.

Magnesium is critical for normal glucose handling and is closely associated with insulin sensitivity. Its role in smooth muscle relaxation is also important for good circulation. These factors are especially important for the overweight dog.

GOdog works not only to support the metabolism of the overweight dog but also helps to increase exercise capacity, further enabling them to improve their well-being.

Post Exercise Muscle Problems and Cramping

The combination of L-Carnitine and MAH magnesium in GOdog can help to prevent muscle problems associated with exercise. L-Carnitine insures healthy and efficient energy production with reduced build up of waste products, while magnesium promotes relaxed muscle function and helps to prevent cramping. For dogs who suffer with muscle problems, you may wish to also supplement a small quantity of CALMdog, which is our MAH magnesium supplement.

Recovery from Illness / Convalescing

Illness leaves the body weak and in the recovery period energy requirements greatly increase. GOdog helps the body to meet these extra demands improving the bodys ability to produce energy efficiently from fat. The stress caused by illness can be a large problem that results in abnormalities in fat metabolism and storage, L-Carnitine helps to promote proper fat usage while the MAH magnesium content of GOdog helps the body to deal with stress. Feed twice daily for two weeks to one month post illness to help rebuild strength.

For Healthy Hearts

Dogs are especially prone to carnitine deficiency in cardiac muscle, this can lead to several forms of heart disease. Certain breeds are particularly prone, and trials have shown that L-Carnitine supplementation can greatly reduce symptoms and increase life span. Magnesium is also important for maintaining a regular heartbeat.

Dosage Information

The basic daily dose of GOdog provides 0.2g of L-Carnitine per 22lb bodyweight per day. You can increase the daily amount if required
Please consult your vet if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
